Summer
by Nadia Wolfe
All his life he trudged
Through knee deep snow
And caught the flakes
Blinking them away from his lashes
All his life he shivered
In the cold and biting wind
And wrapped tighter
His scarf and his jacket
All his life
Cold
Dark
Lonely
All he knew was winter
Then suddenly
She walked in
And the sun coming off her skin
As she smiled
Was the brightest thing he'd seen
In all his life
And she was Summer
